Family Day 2022

We hosted an amazing Family Day event on Saturday 9/10/2022.

This was the 6th time since 2002 that we opened up operations to welcome the families of our employees – and the first in our new home at 141 Prestige Park Rd in East Hartford. We held similar events in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2014 and 2017.

Family Day has become an awesome tradition at HORST Engineering. Each time, a committee of employee volunteers creates the program. One of the main ideas is to “manufacture” a product that children can understand. Sharing our love of advanced manufacturing with the next generation is partially what motivates us.

In the past, we have manufactured keychains, yo-yo’s, golf tees, tops, airplanes, and dreidels.

Factory tours include scavenger hunts, trivia contests, and guessing games. This year’s event was multi-generational with spouse/partners, children, grandchildren, siblings, parents, and grandparents all participating.
