366kW Solar System Goes Live
HORST Engineering announced the “go live” of its new solar PV electric power system. The 366kW system has more than 750 panels and will produce nearly half of the company’s electrical power requirements. The solar system marks yet another phase in the award winning transformation of 141 Prestige Park Rd. What once was a 50-year-old blighted building, is now a state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing factory.
The company consolidated its operations to the new factory while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and is now poised to capitalize on the commercial aerospace recovery. 141 Prestige Park Rd. was acquired in 2019 and then completely renovated. The building was previously a dilapidated eyesore, but rebuilding it has spurred improvements throughout Prestige Park.
The system was installed by Electrical Systems Technologies, LLC of South Windsor.
The company is recruiting for several open positions in manufacturing and engineering. “The solar system was the final phase of the factory renovation. Now we are working hard to hire more skilled workers as we scale our business for future growth and diversification,” said Scott Livingston, HORST Engineering Chief Executive Officer.
