October is Manufacturing Month – a time to recognize the innovation, skill, and collaboration that drive the manufacturing industry forward.

HORST Engineering had the opportunity to participate in East Hartford’s Manufacturers Connect event, hosted by The Town of East Hartford in collaboration with Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT). Held within the newly renovated Wickham Memorial Library in East Hartford. The event brought together local manufacturers, educators, and workforce partners for a morning of networking, resource sharing, and discussion about the future of manufacturing in our region.

The summit served as a strong reminder of East Hartford’s legacy and future role as a hub for advanced manufacturing and underscored the importance of strong partnerships between business, education, and government. HORST Engineering joined fellow manufacturers RSL Fiber Systems and Peening Technologies on the Business Experience Panel moderated by CCAT’s, Eileen Candels. Each shared insights about innovation, workforce development, and the value of collaboration across industries.

We’re grateful to CCAT, the Town of East Hartford, and all the event partners – including AdvanceCT, ReadyCT, Connstep, East Hartford Public Schools, CT State Community College Manchester, and Goodwin University – for their efforts in connecting the community. We’re proud to be part of the region’s thriving manufacturing community.

As a company rooted in East Hartford’s manufacturing history, HORST Engineering values every opportunity to contribute to these important conversations and to support initiatives that help strength our local economy and workforce. Our partnership with CCAT has helped take our technology to new heights, including the latest initiative of bringing 3D printers into the business.
