There has been much discussion about the uneven economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic induced recession. The commercial aerospace industry was hit hard by the virus and associated lockdowns. Many travel related industries are just starting to show signs of improvement. The Hartford Courant did a feature story about the jobs recovery and hiring challenges for many businesses. Due to our move, new factory expansion, and anticipation of the aerospace manufacturing recovery, we are recruiting in several areas.
The Courant visited our new state-of-the-art factory to gather information about our current job openings in Manufacturing (Swiss screw machining, Grinding), Engineering (Director of Engineering), Quality Assurance (Quality Engineer), and to explore our future plans. We also discussed the importance of manufacturing skills development. As the economic recovery takes hold, and particularly within the aerospace sector, the trade schools need to get back on track. Prior to the pandemic, much progress had been made to build a training pipeline for the next generation manufacturing workforce. We fully support the efforts made at the middle school, high school, technical school, and college level. The manufacturing community will work together to regain our pre-pandemic momentum.
