2026 HORST Engineering Intern Presentations
For another summer, HORST Engineering was thrilled to welcome a group of interns to the team. This year’s cohort included three Engineering Interns, two Quality Assurance Interns, and one Purchasing Intern, each bringing fresh perspectives, technical knowledge, and enthusiasm to our operations.
Throughout the summer, our interns contributed to projects that made a meaningful impact on our day-today operations while gaining hands-on experience in a real world advanced manufacturing environment. The team worked on several projects including:
- AS9100 Audit Prep
- Automation Related Projects
- Additive Manufacturing Projects
- Assistance with First Article Inspection
Each year the HORST Engineering internship program continues to grow and improve. The program provides motivated, tech-savvy students with an opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom while experiencing the pace, challenges, and opportunities on the job. The consensus was HORST Engineering provided a positive atmosphere for the students and they enjoyed working alongside team members from various areas, skillset levels, and experiences.
This year’s interns were a diverse group. They joined us from:
- Central Connecticut State University
- University of Connecticut
- University of Hartford
- Iowa State University
- The University of Rhode Island
- University of New Hampshire
We are proud of the partnerships we have developed with these schools, as well as our continued collaboration with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT), as we work together to strengthen the next generation of manufacturing talent.
We are especially excited that several members of this cohort will continue working at HORST Engineering on a part-time basis, extending the impact of the program beyond the summer.
We look forward to welcoming our 2027 interns, with positions expected to be posted late winter. As the program continues to evolve, we remain committed to creating meaningful opportunities for student while building a strong pipeline of future talent.
